The Rotary Self-cleaning Wood Chip Separator is a high-efficiency solid-solid separation device designed for the wood processing, biomass energy, and pulp & paper industries. It is primarily used to separate qualified wood chips from oversized fragments, sawdust, bark, and other impurities, ensuring a uniform and high-quality raw material supply for subsequent production lines.
Structure and Working Principle
The separator consists of a rotating cylindrical screen, a self-cleaning mechanism, a drive unit, a feed hopper, and a discharge chute. The core component is the cylindrical screen with precisely sized perforations. As the drum rotates, material is fed in from one end. Qualified wood chips pass through the screen, while oversized impurities are retained and move toward the discharge end.
Its most prominent feature is the integrated self-cleaning system. High-speed rotating brushes or air nozzles are installed inside the drum to continuously remove debris and wet material adhering to the screen surface, preventing clogging and ensuring stable, long-term operation without manual intervention.
Key Advantages
High Separation Efficiency: The rotating drum design provides a large screening area, achieving separation efficiency of over 90%.
Continuous Self-cleaning: The automatic cleaning mechanism eliminates screen blockages, reduces downtime, and lowers maintenance costs.
Durable Construction: The main body is made of carbon steel or stainless steel, with wear-resistant alloy components, suitable for harsh, high-dust environments.
Easy Operation & Maintenance: Simple structure, no complex adjustments required. The modular design facilitates quick replacement of wearing parts.
Customizable Specifications: Available in multiple drum diameters, lengths, and screen hole sizes to meet different capacity and material requirements.
Applications
Biomass Power Plants: To ensure the quality of combustion fuel.
Pulp & Paper Mills: To screen raw wood chips for pulping.
Wood Pellet Factories: To remove impurities and ensure pellet quality.
Furniture & Woodworking Factories: To process wood residues and optimize material utilization.
As a critical equipment for raw material pretreatment, the Rotary Self-cleaning Wood Chip Separator effectively improves product quality, protects downstream processing equipment, and enhances the overall economic efficiency of production lines.
