The Round Knife Gate Valve is a specialized linear-cut industrial valve designed for precise isolation and throttling of fibrous, viscous, granular, and slurry media. Different from conventional slide gate valves, it features a sharp-edged disc gate that performs a shearing cutting action, making it highly effective for cutting off tangled fibers, suspended solids, and impurity-laden fluids. With a standard round full-bore design, this valve perfectly matches common circular pipelines and is widely used in wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, chemical, mining, power, and food processing industries. The working principle of the round knife gate valve relies on the vertical linear movement of a sharp knife gate. Driven by external actuators, the thin blade gate slides up and down between two sets of sealing seats. During the closing stroke, the sharp blade shears through stubborn impurities such as plant fibers, cloth scraps, and solid sediments, completely cutting off the medium flow without bridging or jamming. When fully open, the gate retracts completely out of the flow path, forming a smooth full-diameter straight channel with almost no flow resistance and no pressure loss. The unique self-sealing structure ensures tight bi-directional sealing, effectively preventing medium leakage under positive and negative pressure conditions.
Structurally optimized for harsh working conditions, the valve body is generally made of cast iron, ductile iron, carbon steel or stainless steel to achieve high rigidity, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. The precision-machined knife gate undergoes special hardening treatment to maintain sharpness and wear resistance during long-term shearing work. The advanced elastic sealing system adopts high-quality rubber, PTFE or ultra-high molecular weight materials, featuring automatic wear compensation and strong resilience. Even after frequent cutting movements, the valve can still maintain stable zero-leakage sealing performance, greatly reducing later maintenance costs.
