Gate damper

A gate damper(also called slide gate damper or guillotine damper)is a heavy-duty industrial flow-control device that uses a sliding blade to fully open,partially throttle,or completely isolate gas/air flow in ductwork.It is the preferred choice for positive shut-off and maintenance isolation in high-temperature,high-dust,or corrosive environments.

Construction&Working Principle

Main Components:

Frame:Heavy-gauge carbon steel/stainless steel,flanged for duct mounting.

Blade:Solid steel plate(often with refractory/ceramic lining for high temp).

Seals:Metal-to-metal or high-temperature flexible seals;optional seal air system for zero leakage.

Actuator:Manual(handwheel/lever),electric,pneumatic,or hydraulic.

Operation:

The blade slides perpendicular to the duct axis.

Open:Blade retracted,full flow,minimal pressure drop.

Closed:Blade fully inserted,tight seal for isolation.

Throttling:Intermediate position for flow regulation.
